Guided by Two Expert Potters

This expanded session proudly features two expert potters dedicated to guiding your artistic development. With their combined knowledge and passion, you will benefit from more hands-on time and highly individualized instruction tailored to your unique pace and interests. Our instructors, including Liz, renowned for her extensive art background, will empower you to explore both the dynamic art of wheel throwing and the versatile techniques of handbuilding. You will gain the confidence and skills to pursue projects appropriate for your skill level, combining methods to create truly distinctive and personal ceramic art.

Liz McEvoy

Liz is an artist and educator with a lifelong passion for creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics and Glass from the University of Massachusetts and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Rhode Island School of Design.

For 40 years, Liz taught art in public schools in Ludlow and Somers, inspiring generations of students through creativity, experimentation, and artistic exploration. In addition to her public school teaching career, she taught pottery on the wheel at the Longmeadow Summer Enrichment Program and served as an adjunct Art History professor at Western New England University.

Her work and teaching are deeply rooted in clay, weaving, sculpture, and gardening, all of which reflect her belief in the connection between making, growing, and learning. Liz loves teaching and finds sharing ideas exhilarating. She believes innovation comes from working together, creating together, and building community through the arts. For her, collaboration is the pathway to discovering the newest and most exciting possibilities in art and education.
